Leasing Agent
This person is in a sales role. Their job is to make you fall in love with an apartment and sign a lease. The leasing agent also qualifies you for the apartment through the application process. During your time residing in the community, your leasing agent will be able to answer any questions and guide you to the right employee should you have problems with maintenance or billing. It is in the leasing agent’s best interest to ensure your satisfaction with the apartment so you will be ready to sign again at the end of your lease.

Maintenance Team
The maintenance employee is there to fix whatever breaks. One of the benefits of apartment living is that you are usually not responsible for items that break due to normal wear and tear. Most apartment complexes will give you a 24-hour phone number you can call for repairs. Depending on the urgency of the situation, it may take a day or two for the maintenance staff to arrive. In addition to repairs, the maintenance team may also perform routine inspections to check your heating unit, your air conditioning unit and your smoke detectors.
Landlord

When you live in a big apartment complex, there is normally a company managing it. Often the apartment manager is out of state and may be somebody that you never come in contact with. You may receive rent bills or comment cards from the apartment manager.
Security Guard
Some apartment communities hire a security guard to patrol the grounds. The security guard watches for unusual behavior and is there to deter criminals.
